I’m so excited and happy to be working with the students in our quest to become global scholars. Last semester we learned some basic phrases and greetings, numbers and colors. We learned to say “my name is,” ask and answer “how are you,” say “please, thank you” and “you’re welcome”. We worked on topics such as activities we like to do, days of the week, our families, and French holidays to name just a few. We sang songs and played games.
This semester we’ve been working on language review, continuing to learn French songs, how to introduce people to each other (roleplay), seasons and weather and an art project based on the work of French impressionist artist, Claude Monet. We’re also taking part in a poster competition about French speaking countries run by the American Association of Teachers of French. After spring break we’ll learn about French foods, French markets and make community maps amongst other things.
My teaching philosophy is to awaken a love of learning foreign languages and culture through fostering relationships and providing fun-filled and positive learning experiences. I can be reached at [email protected].
